The New Vision Institute of Technology (NVIT), based in Otukpo, Benue State, is set to empower 4500 youths of Benue South extraction by equipping them with global high demand digital skills in Artificial Intelligence(AI), Cloud Computing, Data Science, and Software Development.

A press statement issued from NVIT, made available to mustardpoint.com, indicates that the aim is to give the enrolees a six months long intensive training in digital skills that will enable them access life-changing opportunities through remote tech jobs, from which they could earn up to 9000 dollars a year.
The press release from NVIT underscores the urgency needed in tackling the present unacceptable level of youth unemployment, which has been a veritable source of youth restiveness and other related social vices.

The intensive six months course is computed to be one thousand dollars. This is expected to cover the cost of training itself, a laptop and other learning materials, as well as a monthly transport stipend for each participant. Prospect sponsors are informed that NVIT will be executing the training in their Otukpo campus, in partnership with globally respected ICT giants such as AWS, Microsoft and Google. It is instructive to note that at the end of the course NVIT ensures that successful graduates get their acquired skills marketed worldwide, even while they remain in Nigeria.

This is, no doubt, a great opportunity to engage our youths towards a more productive and fruitful life. It is a clarion call on our politicians, leaders, and the well-to-do to train our teeming youths in the art of fishing to become masters of their future, instead of giving them fish which solves temporary hunger only.
In the words of Engineer John Enoh, NVIT President, “Together, let’s lift up the Idoma Nation and create a brighter future.”
