The paramount ruler of Otukpo Kingdom in Central Nigeria, HRH Dr John Onuminya Eimonye OON, clocks 25 years on the throne in 2026. In view of this, a year-long program to celebrate his legacy is being put together, culminating in a grand finale on 26 December, 2026.

The program of events which will be made available in due course, kick-starts with a special session of Royal Drumming and Dancing, to be followed by an address by the organizers on Saturday, 31st January, 2026 at Och’Otukpo’s Palace, Otukp’Icho, commencing at 12 noon prompt.
A press statement by the Organisers indicates that the year-long programme is the handwork of friends and children of the esteemed award winning Doctor of Veterinary Medicine turned traditional ruler from Nigeria and the diaspora. The flagoff ceremony promises to be a very colourful ceremony depicting the very unique rendition of the traditional kingship drumming and dancing reminiscent of the famous Kwararafa Kingdom from where the Otukpo people trace their roots.
All sons and daughters of Otukpo, representatives of communities and the general public are cordially invited to be part of this Royal and Noble celebration.
