The Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo (FUHSO) has had its Internet access greatly enhanced with the recent installation of a Starlinks facility at the Otada take-off campus courtesy of the Godwin Obla Foundation

Receiving the Starlinks package during the handover ceremony, the FUHSO Vice Chancellor, Prof Innocent AO Ujah, mni,OON, NPOM, expressed gratitude to the Godwin Obla Foundation for always positively responding to the requests made by his Institution. He recalled profound projects earlier executed by the Foundation for the benefits of humanity, such as the ultra modern Judith Ogwa Obla Memorial Kidney Centre; forty million Naira FUHSO students endowments; massive renovations at St Francis College Otukpo; construction of students hostel at Wesley High School Otukpo; as well as the construction and renovation of buildings for the Benue State Judiciary in Otukpo. He used the opportunity to also humbly remind the Foundation of its Chairman’s promise to build a Urology Centre for the University.
Prof Ujah called on other blessed individuals and Organizations to emulate the Godwin Obla Foundation and assist especially the Teaching Hospital in Otukpo. He promised that the Starlinks connectivity facility would be put to judicious use to enhance teaching and research purposes for both students and lecturers.
Earlier, while handing over the Starlinks package, the Director General, Godwin Obla Foundation, Elder Michael Ubah Obande, JP, announced that in addition to providing the facility, the Foundation would also pay its annual renewal fee for the first two years of usage, stressing the importance of staying connected to the global ICT highway if FUHSO is to achieve her vision of becoming a world class Institution. He also appealed for adequate monitoring to avoid its application in wrong directions such as pornography.
On hand to witness the handover ceremony were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, Registrar, Bursar, Librarian, and the staff of the ICT department of FUHSO.
