The Committee has been saddled with the mandate, and equipped with elaborate Terms of Reference, to plan and execute the Idoma International Carnival 2025 – IDOMA CULTURAL DAY christened “THE NINE CROWNS CULTURAL SHOWCASE”, with a concept focusing on a high-impact single-day event entirely on the display of the cultural assets of the people of Benue South Senatorial District. The event scheduled for Tuesday 23rd December 2025 with the theme “Unity in Tradition: Celebrating the Nine Crowns of Idomaland”, is planned to last for nine hours consisting of parades of LGA cultural troupes in full regalia; traditional musical displays; the core segment involving an inter-LGA troupes competition; goodwill messages; a Keynote Address on Idoma Unity; as well as presentation of awards and prizes.
The Idoma International Carnival was birthed by the highly ingenious Prince Edward Ochai over a decade ago as Agila Carnival, spanning three days of catchy impactful cultural displays and roadshows around the ancient town of Otukpo during the Christmas period. It has since expanded in scope and content, appropriately changing designation to the Idoma International Carnival with participants and tourists converging on the town from all over Nigeria, Africa and the diaspora to witness the Shows.
In an exclusive chat with Mustardpoint.com Prince Edward Ochai indicated that, in addition to the colourful cultural displays, the Carnival will also be a venue where modern musical talents are discovered and nurtured to have their dreams fulfilled.
All roads will lead to Otukpo from 23th to 27th December 2025 for the biggest annual entertainment event this part of the globe.
See you there!
